Line Cook

Job Description

Our culinary team is growing and we are hiring a Line Cook! Situated in the historic Tidewater Inn, Hunters’ Tavern brings relaxed fine dining and impeccable service to Easton, Maryland. Offering award-winning happy hour specials, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday Brunch, Hunters’ Tavern is one of the finest Easton restaurants for any occasion.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for preparation of station before the start of each meal service. Ensure that all supplies that will be needed for service are available and ready for use.

Prep food for service each day. This may include chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces. Depending on the needs of the kitchen, line cook may be asked to prepare items for other stations or special events.

During meal service, the line cook is responsible for preparing the menu items requested from their specific station. This requires working with other cooks to ensure food is ready at the right time and at the proper temperature to be delivered to the guest table.

At the end of meal service, the line cook is responsible for cleaning their station. This includes disposing of trash, cleaning utensils, pots, and pans and cleaning cooking services. Responsibilities also include taking care of leftover food, whether disposing of it, returning unused items to the correct location or storing for the next meal service.

Assist in unloading delivery trucks and storing product in its proper location.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Complies with Hunters’ Tavern quality standards; kitchen policies and procedures; hotel policies and procedures. Adheres to Hunters’ Tavern cooking methods, recipes and portion sizes.

· Responsible for the highest level of food quality.

· Maintain a clean and sanitary work station including table top, tools and equipment.

· Preparation of meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food items.

· Cooking methods to include broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing.

· Demonstrate good knife skills.

· Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.

· Adhere to food safety protocols in regards to food handling and storage.

· Tracks and reports any food waste.

· Completes required tasks within assigned time frame.

· Opens and/or closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations.

· Cook only items generated from the restaurant point-of-sale system.

· Perform other related duties that include but are not limited to dishwashing, trash removal, deep cleaning and assisting in other projects assigned by Executive Chef.

· Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in culinary industry.

· High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.

· Position requires the ability to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Tidewater House Steward

The Tidewater Inn’s historic Tidewater House is in need of an AM and a PM experienced steward/concierge! We are looking for two dedicated individuals with management experience to join our team.

The AM manager’s responsibilities include breakfast service, light housekeeping in public spaces, laundry/ironing and refreshing the guest rooms.

The PM manager’s responsibilities include bartending, concierge services, light housekeeping in public spaces and turndown service.

Both managers must be TIPS certified. Experience required.

Front Desk Agent

Job Description

Tidewater Inn is looking to expand our extraordinary team and currently looking for a Front Desk Agent.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Ensuring the front desk and lobby areas remain tidy, organized, and ready to greet every guest that walks through our doors.

- Coordinating services to provide our guests exemplary hospitality, foreseeing guest needs, and resolving concerns.

- Processing all guest check-ins, check-outs, and financial transactions with strict adherence to defined procedures.

-Answering multi-line phone and successfully completing daily check list.

-Taking reservations online and over the phone.

Must be able to multi-task, work with others as well as independently and stand for long periods of time. Ability to learn hotel management software system. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Banquet Captain

The Tidewater Inn is hiring Banquet Captains to join our incredible Banquet Team. The primary focus of a Banquet Captain is to service the individual needs of the guests in banquet dining and throughout the hotel by providing excellent professional and friendly customer service. Responsibilities include:

- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation.

- Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Tidewater Inn Standards.

- Ensure pleasant and professional relationship with all customers and co-workers and see to specific needs when requested.

- Must have good communication, written and customer service skills.

- Assumes responsibility of the banquet department at all times.

- Ensures that maintenance, cleanliness, supplies and organization of all banquet storage areas are maintained.

- Inspects function areas and reports any opportunities to correct department immediately.

- In absence of F&B director and/or Chef will attend required meetings to ensure proper communication.

- Ability to give tours in absence of management team members.

- Provide support, positive direction and development to staff members.

- Knowledge of complete menu and work stations prior to function.

- Knowledge of proper table settings.

- Keeping the kitchen work areas clean at all times.

- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner.

- Comply at all times with Tidewater Inn standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

- Greeting and meeting all guest contacts for banquet events.

- Responsible for taking banquet equipment inventory of all equipment every 3 months.

- Other duties as required.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years hospitality or food service supervisory experience required. Serve Safe and TIPS training required.

Banquet Bartender

Job Description

The Tidewater Inn is hiring Banquet Bartenders to join our incredible Banquet Team. Responsibilities include:

-Prior to event, set bar as specified by the Banquet Event Order

-Greet and assist guests throughout the event

-Serve/replenish beverages while creating a memorable experience

-At the conclusion of the event, reset banquet bar based on supervisor instruction

Housekeeping Attendant

The housekeeper performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guests'

rooms under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor.

  • Answer immediately to requests from guests, as well as from other departments
  • Load cart with supplies such as linens, terry, and cleaners and move it to the required area
  • Enter guest rooms by adhering to proper procedures
  • Clean room to standards set by Supervisor/Hotel
  • Replace used amenities in guest rooms - unless otherwise specified
  • Provide clean linens and towels in exchange for dirty ones
  • Hang or fold towels, make beds and ensure bathrooms are exceptionally clean
  • Take away room service dishes, dirty linen and trash
  • Perform checks on all room appliances to ensure they are in good workingcondition
  • • Adjust furniture, desk items and appliances when necessary
  • • Dust furnishings and wipe down walls as well as remove marks from them, if
  • possible
